Future Leaders Hear Our Concerns

On March 9, the Upton Farm Preservation Network made had the privilege of meeting with over 50 young people from across Prince Edward Island at the two-day 2007 Young Leaders’ ForumĀ heldĀ at the Rodd Royalty in Charlottetown. The efforts and reasons for preserving the Upton Farmlands fitted well with the Round Table Discussions on the Environment and Health, and the invitation to get involved with the Network’s efforts was well received.

The closing line of the presentation: “as our future leaders you should demand that we leave you this land as your heritage,” struck a chord with the enthusiastic listeners. Information hand-outs were circulated and a large number indicated their keen interest and willingness to join in the campaign to save the Upton Farm.

The Upton Farm Network was appreciative of the opportunity to talk directly to so many young people.
